Job Description: Are you experienced in Property and Casualty Claims? Have work with claims that have gone to litigation? Come join our team!

We are looking for a dynamic Claims Litigation Specialist to work with defense counsel on property and liability claims, attend mediate, and give great customer service!

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Claim Assignment
Receives new losses from the supervisor to handle direct and assignment to defense counsel. Ensures
prompt contact is made as per established guidelines. Works with pending claims to ensure efficient
completion. Reviews policy information to determine applicable coverage(s). Makes recommendations
to the supervisor for resolution of coverage issues in accordance with policy language, customer and
company guidelines, and generally accepted claims handling procedures.

Reserves
Recommends timely and accurate reserves based on the claims analysis and defense counsel to ensure
sufficient funds can be allocated to cover potential losses.

Claim Resolution
Works with defense counsel to develop litigation plan to bring case to a posture for negotiation or mediation. Responsible for staying current on legal trends that affect claim handling in the state of Florida.

Reporting
Maintains a current diary on each claim to ensure timely resolution and
closing of the file. Provides detailed captioned reports for management
review on major losses. Consistent follow-up with defense counsel as needed. Ensures files are fully documented and able to support the claim decision.

Customer Service
Ensures prompt, proper contact is made and maintained with customers, insureds, agents, and attorneys.

Special Tasks and Projects
Lends assistance with special tasks and projects, as necessary.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

4-year college degree plus 10 years of liability and litigation claims handling experience, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
The ability to understand and interpret a property damage estimate.
Able to interpret policy coverages.
Ability to evaluate liability exposures.
Demonstrated technical expertise in claims management.
Computer literacy and ability to use applicable software.
Appropriate licensing in the states in which the position handles.
Insurance certificates, courses, or professional designations a plus.
